We are looking to add one qualified mechanical engineer to our growing ASSET Reliability Division. The position will be based in our Vancouver office at the Broadway Tech Centre, with amenities including a fitness centre, basketball and volleyball courts, an outdoor BBQ area, restaurants, cafés, bike lockers, underground parking, a daycare facility, and convenient access to the Renfrew SkyTrain Station.

Position overview:

As an integral member of our ASSET Reliability Division, your role will include performing equipment and facility condition inspections, compiling and writing reports, and preparing drawings, estimates, and proposals. This position involves occasional travel to job sites on a short-term basis to perform inspection work and requires the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering consultants. The position also involves performing engineering and design for a variety of projects often related to the inspection work being performed.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration as a professional engineer with EGBC.
  • Five to ten years of relevant design experience in the heavy industrial sector.
  • Experience conducting inspections and repairs at ports, marine terminals, and mines for a range of bulk material handling equipment.
  • A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • A natural ability to take on a leadership role and mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A valid BC driver’s license.
