This position is a three-year contract position based at the Neptune Bulk Terminals site in North Vancouver.  

Position overview:

As an integral member of our team, your responsibilities will include managing, monitoring, and coordinating day-to-day activities. You will also help with the management of construction contracts. 

Duties and responsibilities:

This position will involve the following:

  • Health, safety, and environment (HSE) management and supervision.
  • Day-to-day coordination of all activities within the construction area.
  • Day-to-day contact for the contractors’ front-line supervision.
  • Day-to-day contact for coordination with Neptune Bulk Terminals’ operations.
  • Timely planning and early review of design drawings and revisions to mitigate potential schedule impacts of design changes.
  • Look-ahead planning and working with the logistics team to ensure the timely delivery of owner-supplied materials and equipment for the contractors.
  • Scheduling and coordination of QA activities. 
  • Receiving and expediting contractor RFIs and queries.
  • Providing input into progress reporting and scheduling.
  • Assisting with progress payment assessments.
  • Attending contractors’ daily toolbox and planning meetings.
  • Providing ongoing daily surveillance of construction activities.
  • Coordinating third-party survey control.
  • Compiling daily progress reports.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • A minimum of seven years of industrial construction superintendent experience. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel and Project.
  • The ability to meet project objectives within designated constraints.
  • A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • The ability to forecast construction scheduling and demonstrate schedule control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A valid BC driver’s license.
