CWA Engineers Inc. is an industry-leading consulting engineering firm that provides services in the ports and marine terminals, and mining, infrastructure, and wood products industries to clients across North America and around the world.

With our expanding client base and growing project needs, CWA is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Mechanical Engineer-in-Training.

As Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, you will design/compile project packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, and equipment mechanical layouts. Other responsibilities include conducting site surveys, coordinating with clients and outside parties, and well as reviewing and preparing designs and documentation in accordance with CWA quality policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and eligibility for registration as an EIT with APEGBC.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems (conveyors, pumps, piping, HVAC, dust control systems, etc.).
  • Proficient using AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to work with a team to complete field inspections of heavy industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
