We are looking to add an intermediate marine structural engineer. This position will be based in our Vancouver office at the Broadway Tech Centre, with amenities including a fitness centre, basketball and volleyball courts, an outdoor BBQ area, restaurants, cafés, bike lockers, underground parking, a daycare facility, and convenient access to the Renfrew SkyTrain Station.  

Position overview:

As a lead role within CWA’s growing marine division, your main role will include development, project management, design, and report preparation associated with marine terminals.

Duties and responsibilities:

This position will involve the following:

  • Leading designs on marine infrastructure projects.
  • Developing detailed designs associated with marine terminals.
  • Inspecting docks, approach trestles, berthing and mooring structures, and bulkhead walls.
  • Preparing technical documents, specifications, and design calculations for various projects.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Five to ten years of marine structural design experience.
  • Five to ten years of project management experience in industrial and public marine facilities.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering and eligibility for registration as a professional engineer with EGBC.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the design of steel, concrete, and timber structures in a marine application.
  • The ability to provide direction and leadership to engineers and designers.
  • A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A valid BC driver’s license.
