Project Coordinator / Mechanical Technologist

(CWA) is an industry leading consulting engineering firm providing professional services to clients in Canada and around the world.  Our head office is located in the Broadway Tech Center, a modern and convenient facility by Broadway and Renfrew Street in Vancouver, adjacent to the Renfrew Skytrain Station. 

CWA provides services in a diverse range of industries, including Ports and Marine Terminals, Mining and Minerals, Infrastructure and Wood Products.

With our expanding client base and growing project needs, CWA is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator / Mechanical Technologist to join our dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between clients, vendors, contractors, and the project team.
  • Prepare RFQ, Tender, and Contract technical documents (procurement assistance).
  • Work closely with engineers and designers across engineering disciplines.
  • Assist with proposal writing.
  • Assist in preparation of powerpoint presentations.
  • Exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protect confidential information. This includes many highly confidential correspondences, memoranda, contracts and proposals.  Candidate must be organized and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Prepare and coordinate meetings, video conferences, events and presentations.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes of meetings.
  • Arrange transportation, hotel, and car reservations and prepare itineraries for project related travel.
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized documentation system for projects that permit easy reference and rapid retrieval of information for the project team.
  • Perform secretarial and clerical duties with deliberate speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing and photocopying.

Qualifications Required:

  • AsCT or equivalent (Mechanical).
  • At least 5 years working experience in a relevant field (heavy industrial/construction experience is an asset).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to write fluent well structured English text and edit technical material.
  • Verbal English fluency is required. Verbal Mandarin fluency will be an asset.
  • Be able to work with minimal direction and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Position may necessitate overtime on work days and weekends, as well as some travel.
  • Graphic Software (i.e. Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop) would be an asset.
  • Web design experience is a plus.
