This position is a three-year contract position based at the Neptune Bulk Terminals site in North Vancouver.  

Position overview:

As an integral member of our team, your role will include demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of surveys and field operations. This includes, but is not limited to, independent judgement, communication, and supervisory ability. 

Duties and responsibilities:

This position will involve the following:

  • Ensuring all elevations are noted at the end of the day for the following day’s work or future work.
  • Performing various mathematical computations such as quantity estimations and grading.
  • Maintaining field notes for the compilation of daily reports.
  • Attendance and participation in all tailgate meetings, topics, concerns, progress meetings, etc.
  • Checking with supervisors prior to commencing work.
  • Ensuring all survey instruments are properly maintained and stored.
  • Conducting daily contractor progress, QA/QC, and technical reporting. 

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • A bachelor’s degree or certificate in engineering, engineering technology, or geomatics surveying.
  • A minimum of five years of on-site construction experience.
  • Experience establishing daily survey layouts and transferring survey data to design drawings.
  • The ability to read drawings and check for errors or omissions.
  • The ability to set elevations and grades for roads, underground construction utilities, and concrete works preparation.
  • The ability to work in accordance with corporate work safety procedures.
  • A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A valid BC driver’s license.
