CWA engineers has been involved in projects that require detailed process design, major equipment specification and contract management for engineered wood projects throughout North America. In addition to Greenfield Projects, our engineers have pioneered fibre recovery projects for major clients in the industry. We have completed in-depth analyses to assist our clients make sound technical and economic decisions to modernize and upgrade their facilities.
CWA has been involved with the engineered wood industries since 1987. We have provided consulting and technical engineered services to Weyerhaeuser TJ Vancouver Parallam Facility for the entire series of plant modifications and expansions undertaken since 1987, with cumulative project values over C$20 Million, resulting in quadrupling of production capacity. CWA operates as part of the management/implementation team, involved in identification of opportunities, concept research and development, facilities layout, capital budgeting, structural, mechanical and fire-protection engineering, detailed equipment design, and specialty machine modifications.
In recent years, we have expanded our services to the OSB board industries including the on-going work with Louisiana Pacific (L-P) under a major engineering agreement. The work with L-P at Dawson Creek in B.C. and Swan Valley in Manitoba ranges from new green end facilities to optimization projects including log conditioning ponds, thermal oil heating systems, forming line modifications, resin kitchen upgrades, blender and sander additions, and finishing line upgrades. We have also provided engineering design engineering services to Weyerhaeuser's OSB plants in Wawa, Edson, Drayton Valley and a capital cost study for the Arcadia Plant Expansion.
