CWA has designed over fifty (50) greenfield and major sawmill/planermill modernization projects. Our staff possesses extensive experience in the design of small log processing facilities and small log sawmills. We have implemented leading edge technology in the interior of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the U.S, and also in offshore countries such as New Zealand, Chile, and Russia through joint ventures. Likewise, with specialty knowledge of the B.C. coastal forest industry built on our 40-year history, our key staff brings significant expertise to the design of large log mills.
CWA has expertise to help operators on the coast to re-tool their facilities to adapt to changing resources. Recent projects include a C$65 million modernization program for Tolko at The Pas, Manitoba; a log merchandising system and high-speed edger optimizer for Wayerhaeuser in Chapleau, Ontario; a small log processing line for Millar Western Industries at Whitecourt and at Boyle in Alberta.
